Please suppawt my challenge to raise funds for Guide Dogs for puppies like Guide Dog Ruby!

I've been a Guide Dogs volunteer (puppy raiser/boarder and merchandise stalls) for a few years and I'm taking part in the LAST EVER PAWGUST challenge to raise vital funds for Guide Dogs.

This August, rain, hail or shine, I will be getting out every day to walk in support of people living with low vision and blindness as I have seen the impact a life-changing Guide Dog makes to their life. 

My profile photo is of Guide Dog Ruby at graduation with her vision impaired person. My family raised Ruby as a puppy and also boarded her while she was training and waiting to be placed. It takes around 2 years and $50,000 to breed, raise and train just ONE Guide Dog! With demand for Guide Dogs services continuing to grow, your support has never been more important.

This is the LAST EVER PAWGUST, and I'm determined to make every step count.

Day 18 Walk & Pilates with Agnes

Today I looked after 5 month old guide dog puppy Agne. We did a 1.5km walk around Mount Coot-the Botanic Gardens and she joined in at my Pilates class afterwards.

Day 14 Guide Dog Ruby is 3! 🥳

2 years ago as Ruby’s puppy raiser, we celebrated her 1st birthday. I’m delighted to have seen her recently as a guide dog working with her lifelong companion. She continues to be a sweet affectionate girl. Happy 3rd Birthday Ruby!!! 🥰🦮🧡

Day 11 Happy Hibiscus Day!

Day 11 Pawgust is happy hibiscus day! Big smiles for big colourful joyful blooms and a 3km walk around the gardens. (Still did the 6km early morning walk).

Day 8 Pawgust beanie for cold morning walks

Fur-getting the cold winter mornings on my walk with a Pawgust beanie. 🤩 We reached my $300 goal and now stepping towards $500. Thank you to my suppawters and still time to donate.

Day 4 Pawsome walk with GD Dog Mum 🧢

A pawsome Pawgust walk seeing the magnificent millennium cherry blossom at Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. Also some stunning sculptures around the garden to admire. 🧢 Wearing a Guide Dogs “Dog Mum” cap with a cute Labrador badge. You can get the cap from the merchandise stall… will be at the Ekka next week for Brisbane folk.

Special Pawgust walk with 🦮 Ruby!

An absolute delight to see Ruby as a working guide dog today at Roma Street Parklands. Was an extra special walk during Pawgust seeing the confidence and independence Ruby brings to Beth’s life. I was in awe seeing Ruby navigate Beth around the gardens and even the stepping stones we used to do. For an added adventure we even did the little train ride around the gardens too! 🤩😍
