We're returning for the last ever PAWGUST

It has been some years but Zeus, Odin and I are returning to participate in the last ever PAWGUST this year, to raise money for Guide Dogs Australia 🧡

We first completed PAWGUST back in 2019 when Odin was just a pup. Back then life seemed simpler, Zeus was in his prime, and we were consistently walking an hour every day. So that's what we challenged ourselves to, and achieved. 

Our next PAWGUST was 2021 when we had just moved to the Bellarine Peninsula. It was all about beach walks and getting out post-pandemic. Once again Zeus (6), Odin (2) and I (redacted) were getting out for an hour a day. Easy to do when you're working for yourself from home. 

Now, with two 'senior' dogs (how rude), a three year-old, and back at work in an office full time, I struggle to get out even once a day with the dogs. So with the last ever PAWGUST I thought, what better time to challenge ourselves once more. 

Zeus, Odin and I (sometimes with the help of Ellie) are challenging ourselves to walk 60km this August to raise funds for Guide Dogs Australia. It's roughly 30 minutes a day (at non-Ellie pace) and a much needed connection for the three of us. Odin and I will aim to participate daily, and Zeus when he can. At 11 years old and with a bit of arthritis, walks aren't as long for him as they used to be. 

So this August, rain, hail or shine, I will be getting out every day to walk in support of people living with low vision and blindness.

Every step I take helps provide life-changing Guide Dogs and services to those who need them most. 

Fun fact: Did you know it costs more than $50,000 to breed, raise and train just ONE Guide Dog?!
