We watched as Ari — a very excitable, seemingly gigantic black Labrador puppy — launched himself out of a ute with absolutely no idea how much we were about to fall in love with him.

Over the past few months, Ari has brought endless laughter, unconditional love and plenty of memorable moments. Watching him grow, learn and develop has been one of the most rewarding experiences we have ever had. For Zoe especially, Ari represents far more than a dog; he represents companionship, confidence and support for the future.

What we didn't expect when we first applied to Guide Dogs was the incredible community that would stand behind us every step of the way. From our very first phone call, we have been met with kindness, encouragement and genuine care. The people at Guide Dogs dedicate their lives to changing outcomes for others, and we have seen firsthand the difference they make.

This August, alongside Ari, we are taking part in PAWGUST to walk 60kms to raise funds for Guide Dogs. It costs more than $50,000 to breed, raise and train just one Guide Dog, and the demand for these life-changing services continues to grow.

This is the final ever PAWGUST and we're determined to make it our biggest fundraising year!

If Ari has taught us anything, it's how powerful the right support can be. We are forever grateful to the people whose generosity made it possible for Ari to be with us today. Now, we're hoping to pay that forward.
