PAWGUST 2026

SUPPORT MY FINAL CHALLENGE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR GUIDE DOGS

I've gone barking mad, and I'm taking part in the LAST EVER PAWGUST challenge to raise vital funds for Guide Dogs.

This August, rain, hail or shine, April and lIwill be getting out every day to walk in support of people living with low vision and blindness.. this is a last hurrah for April before her upcoming retirement.

Every step I take helps provide life-changing Guide Dogs and services to those who need them most. Did you know it costs more than $50,000 to breed, raise and train just ONE Guide Dog?! With demand for Guide Dogs services continuing to grow, your support has never been more important.

This is the LAST EVER PAWGUST, and I'm determined to make every step count.

Please make a donation to help me go the distance so that together, we can change lives one step at a time.

My Updates

Day 15 and 16

Lovely relaxing weekend, with a little bit of a walk around the neighbourhood and to various places but not stressful, very relaxing.
8 kms  2  days

Day 14

Frosty foggy morning but so still by lake burley griffin. Al ways better when chatting with friends thanks Leslie. Then the sun shone so April and I walked to our various appointments with ease. Love Canberra winter days.

Days 12 and 13

Busy work days today, but still managed a walk in the morning and at lunchtime.

Day, 11

Today was census day, and one of the questions was. How did you get to work today? Easy answer I walked with April.

Thank you so very much to all my generous family and friends . I have already reached my goal.  Next challenge I’d like to double it.  Received the goodies below for making different targets. Next target is a hoodie and there are already  discussions in the family who gets it….

Day 10

Did I say rain hail or shine?  Lots of freezing rain so walked around Manuka  undercover instead. Managed to stay mainly dry . 3 kms

Days 8 and 9

Wonderful trip to blue mountains  to celebrate Rob’s  birthday. Rob and the fam did the full hike whereas April and I did the smaller little more stable walks.

Day 7

Walk along Lake Burley Griffin. Nothing better than a crisp Canberra winter morning along the lake.
