Extra walks means extra food
Poppi and I have been getting out for our extra PAWGUST walks and the additional exercise has meant Poppi has lost a little weight. The good news for her is I have increased her food intake and toda she got an extra scoop of kibbles! Poppi was very happy with this!
A lot fo our walking has been local but we have had a few special walks. Like yesterday when Poppi walked me through the Guide Dogs Center for Eye health. WE stopped in as part of our visit to some Optometry Students where Poppi and I shared some information about Guide dogs and also what it is like to live with low vision. PAWGUST is a great fundraiser as it helps people like me to get Guide Dogs but they also offer so many more services. The Eye Center provides their services either Medicare bulk billed or free of charge to patients without Medicare.
They shared the example of students on Visas who might have diabetic retinopathy able to stop in and receive eye checks that are critical to avoiding vision loss or blindness. Also, the affordability of services that are sight saving but might be out of reach for some.
Please continue to keep your pets fit and supportt Guide Dogs.

Poppi The Guide Dog and Friends
Poppi and I have been sharing our story and raising awareness about the lives and benefits of living with Vision Impairment nd getting a guide dog. Now you can join us in making life better for many other people with sight loss.
We are taking part in PAWGUST 2018 on behalf of Guide Dogs Australia because we're passionate about supporting people living with disability.
During the month of August, we will be walking 30 minutes a day for 30 days with our pooch's (that's roughly 2km every day) which is no small feat in the winter weather to raise vital funds for Guide Dogs and support their puppies currently in training.
And that's where you come in! By supporting us, you are helping to improve the quality of life for all Aussies living with disability.
Will you please show your support by donating to us today? Anything you can give will help.
With your support we can change people’s lives by helping current Guide Dog puppies in training. Plus, it will also inspire us to complete our 30 minutes each day!
Thank you so much.
