SUPPORT MY CHALLENGE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR GUIDE DOGS

I've gone barking mad, and I'm taking part in the PAWGUST challenge to raise funds for Guide Dogs.

Rain, hail or shine, this August, I will be pounding the pavement!

Did you know it costs in excess of $50,000 to breed, raise and train just ONE Guide Dog?! With thousands of dogs being trained each year, every dollar counts. I need your help so that together, we can create a world where everyone who needs a Guide Dog has a Guide Dog.

Please make a donation to support my challenge today. Every bit counts.

The Guide Dogs organisation is one of the truest charities that raise some of the most wonderful, gorgeous and highly skilled working dogs, who as just the dogs themselves, take such pride in their taught abilities so that they are so happy to learn and do their jobs helping their humans! There is so much involved in the raising of these incredible dogs right from the moment they're born, when they're fostered by incredible volunteers as baby puppies once they're a few months of age, where they learn the basic / foundations of skills they will learn later once they return to the foundation to learn how to be the best Guide Dogs ever. As someone who has trained dogs in various dog sports, I know some of what goes into training an intelligent breed of dog into their learning and that is nothing compared to the learning and the skills taught to Guide Dogs! These Dogs are taught skills they will use for and with the Humans they will, on graduation, be paired with for the rest of their lives! They will grow up into incredibly loyal, happy, proud skilled Furkids who give their matched Human absolute freedom in their day to day life <3 What they give to and for their humans may be difficult for some to understand, for a person with excellent vision it is difficult to understand. I'm a person with low vision - with adaptible tools on my computer and phone, I can still read and watch videos and I am so grateful for that ability. But my vision is deteriorating over time now, in a way that the specialists cannot stop, and so one day, I too will lose my sight. I am slowly trying to come to terms with this - I am still somewhat in denial. Yet it is odd for me, I've been a supporter of a few charities all my adult life, of which the Guide Dogs is one, and a few others - all of which I will continue to support and do my best to raise money for as I'm able to - what's odd is that each of the amazing charities I've always supported - are charities that have become those which are now also "literally" connected to me. Guide Dogs = now I have "low vision" and will eventually be legally blind. Plus I support the Cancer Council = Chronic Squamous Carcinoma. The Leukaemia Foundation = actually have 2 different Leukaemia's :/ one is chronic, the other is acute. However, while I can physically contribute even just a little bit towards helping out these groups I will do so! So please donate - help out Guide Dogs, the work they do is beyond amazing, resulting in the full raising of such incredible happy, proud, skilled and high achiement dogs who are proud to love their matched human who they develop such an incredible partnership with to help those folks they're matched with achieve anything they want in life - these dogs remove barriers and provide such happy independance, safety, guidance, partnership, love and companionship all in one gorgeous Guide Dog. I am beyond impressed with the work your group achieves and with the dogs you raise for the people who need these doors opened in their lives - and they give all the above and they give hope for a better future. Thank you!
