Day 8 ZEUS
Billie was given a rest day today as her leg is sore (birth deformity) so Zeus went for the walk. Now becuase I had to work and the weather prediction was for horrific conditions hubby Shaun got to take the little man for his stroll. Seems he was pretty happy afterwards - probably because it was cold out.
Angel is not a fan of having her photo taken but she was admiring the view. Skipped gym to get her walk in as rain is predicted. Rugged up with beanie, gloves, jumper, jacket and waterproof pants - may as well have sat in a sauna it got that warm. No rain for today’s walk phew. Two days of heavy rain and storms predicted ....not sure how that will go down with Billie and Zeus!
The little blue wombat and I wandered off walking up the hill - skipped the park as it was getting dark. Zeus enjoyed his walk although I discovered he doesn’t like being followed....likes to keep and eye on what’s in front!
Not the dog on the Tucker box but she is the dog sitting on the Kurll Park marker. Nice late afternoon walk - rugged up cos it’s cold but managed a good 50 minutes.
Day 4 - is she tired already.
We've hit day 4 but I’m curious as to how Angel is going to walk when she starts off upside down? Well she eventually righted herself and we managed to walk 50 mins. At least the rain held off but wow it was cold!
Zeus was up for his walk - he LOVES it but he loves something else just as much and that's car rides so we walked to our IGA where we met hubby (Zeusy's dad) and hitched a ride home - 30 min walk there and a 5 minute ride home = bliss for this little man. Zeus was born with a cleft palate and has been hand raised by us. He does his best wombat impersonation at night burying under the bed covers!
Miss Billie got her walk in today and as you can see she's exhausted! Billie was born with a slight deformity to her rear left leg so long walks are not for her. 30 minutes is about her limit - she starts to skip on the leg - my sign that shes nearly done. She does her best though and behaves pretty well - although she thinks EVERYONE loves her (well don't they) so she loves a meet and greet!
So 1st August - Angel first pooch off and racing for her walk. She 'chatted' the whole way - her most annoying hapbit - talks to other dogs, birds, me, , anyone......high pitched whiny chatter and it doesnt let up. Aside from that naughty habit she loved her walk!
Missed the start but these kids have spent a few days warming up for PAWGUST. being time poor and just recently having a total knee eplacement, they haven't been walked as often as they should so hopefully know being 13 weeks post op - I am up to the challenge of getting them out at least once a day (with help from the family). I can only walk one at a time given the combined weight of about 50kgs. Im sure they will be grateful for any adventures they get to go on!
I am raising funds for Guide Dogs
My best mate and I are taking part in PAWGUST 2019 on behalf of Guide Dogs Australia because I'm passionate about helping Guide Dog puppies in training and supporting people in our community living with disability.
During the month of August, my dog and I will be walking 30 minutes a day for 30 days (that's roughly 2km every day which is no small feat in the winter weather!) to raise vital funds for Guide Dogs and support their puppies currently in training.
And that's where you come in! By supporting my dog and I, you are helping to improve the quality of life for all Aussies living with disability, and to give the puppies the best start in their journey to becoming Guide Dogs.
Will you please show your support by donating to me today? Anything you can give will help.
With your support we can change people’s lives by helping current Guide Dog puppies in training. Plus, it will also inspire me and my pooch to complete my 30 minutes each day!
Thank you so much.
Thank you to my SupPAWters
