SUPPORT MY CHALLENGE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR GUIDE DOGS

I've gone barking mad, and I'm taking part in the PAWGUST challenge to raise funds for Guide Dogs.

Rain, hail or shine, this August, I will be pounding the pavement!

Did you know it costs in excess of $50,000 to breed, raise and train just ONE Guide Dog?! With thousands of dogs being trained each year, every dollar counts. I need your help so that together, we can create a world where everyone who needs a Guide Dog has a Guide Dog.

Please make a donation to support my challenge today. Every bit counts.

My Updates

One day to go

It was a chilly morning for a walk but Jim was keen to get going.  The creek was fast flowing thanks to yesterday’s heavy rain.  We bumped into the 3 beagles and Alfie along the way.  Alice liked the purple bush which is flowering along the creek.  Jim decided to bring home a stick!

Day 26 - International Dog Day!

A beautiful day walking along the creek!  The wattles are quite spectacular.  In the afternoon, Jim got some sun and rolled on the grass.  Later we walked through Gurners Reserve to see Darcy then home past the school.

9 days to go

Saturday, day 23 was full of adventure.  We welcomed Alice’s cousin and partner for morning tea.  Jim occupied himself chewing sticks and burying a soft toy.  Then we went for a drive, first to Harbourtown, then Bunnings Mile End and finally Norwood Foodland.  So much walking, several pats and a few dogs.  Now rest time, under the heater!

Wonderful Wednesday!

The sun was shining so we headed out up the creek towards the park.  Along the way we saw a kookaburra feeding its young - amazing!  Once we were back home Jim lazed by my “Best Friend” rose to capture the sun.

Beagle Surprise!

Walking along the creek this morning we met 4 beagles, 3 of whom are Jim’s distant cousins (same breeder).  Later we all went to Bunnings with Christina and had delicious ice cream at Messina.

Halfway mark - Day 15

We went for a walk at half-past-paw!  It was cold, but the ducks were loving the weather.  We counted 10 ducklings too.  Total kms walked = 27km!

Restful Wednesday & West Beach

Started the day with a sleep in! After some window watching, Alice & Jim went walking.  Along the creek we met Heather and Hunter.  Then at the park we saw Darcy & Billie.
After lunch we went for a car ride to West Beach.  We walked on the path alongside the sand dunes (great for sniffing) before we went on to the sand.  Oh dear, little dead fish were on the sand, so we walked quickly back to the shore.

Happy Sunday!

Andrew, Jim and I went on our morning walk.  As we were heading to the tennis club we met Dee.  She gave Jim three treats!  We walked to the local park together, past the primary school, over the bridge and around the corner.  Coby and Darcy were there with their owners.  Jim scored another treat before we headed for home.

Resting in the garden in the sun

We started the day wandering down the creek, spotting 9 ducks.  Home for a rest under the apricot tree in the morning sun

Strolling along the creek

Enjoying our walk on Sunday morning.  Lots of birds in the trees, including lorikeets!  No koalas sighted though

Resting up after a LONG walk

Resting up

After a busy day of visitors and treading the pavement of North Terrace for Illuminate Adelaide, a rest is required.  Looking forward to another walk tomorrow!
