Absolutely! Just check with your parents first to make sure it's okay with them (and while you're at it, see if they want to do it with you!)

How much do I have to walk?

The goal is to walk 30 minutes a day for 30 days during the month of August (which is roughly 2km per day).

Please note: all dogs are different, so it’s important to keep in mind the fitness, age and size of your dog when walking during PAWGUST. If you are unsure about your dog’s capacity to walk for this amount of time each day, please consult your local vet.

How long does registration and fundraising stay open?

Registration stays open until Wednesday 15th August. Fundraising stays open until Sunday 30th September.

I’ve set up a Facebook Fundraising Page – how does this work and why doesn’t it link to my PAWGUST Fundraising Page?

The fundraiser feature on Facebook is currently not meant to be available in Australia. However, we have noticed some pages have been allowed through. We would not recommend setting this up at this stage as you’re unable to select Guide Dogs Australia as the beneficiary. This means that you’d be running a crowd funding style campaign on Facebook and therefore no donors will receive a tax deductible receipt from Guide Dogs. Further, the funds raised will be transferred to your personal account and then you would need to transfer these to your PAWGUST fundraising page. We would recommend only asking donors to donate to your PAWGUST fundraising page and to not set up a Facebook page until it’s properly available in Australia. For further information and support, please contact us on PAWGUST@guidedogs.org.au

Is the registration form fully accessible by a screen reader?

At this stage, you are able to complete the first three steps of the registration process with your screen reader. Once you get to the final step which is a self-donation page, the screen reader will not recognise the options available on screen. Please call Tassy on 08 8203 8302 or send an email to PAWGUST@guidedogs.org.au advising us of your full name and we will assist with completing the registration for you. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Still have a question? Contact our PAWGUST team on 1300 GUIDE DOGS or email PAWGUST@guidedogs.org.au - they will be glad to help you!
